:..[—♔:..The blond was on his way home from another run in with his former gang, the Yellow Scarves and after all that had happened, the boy was worn and tired from the long ordeal he just gotten done dealing with. There hadn’t been very many of them, which was by far a good sign but if any more had shown up at the time, Kida would probably have been done for. He was grateful that the numbers had been few and that he was able to be on his way with only a few minior scrapes and bruises here and there. Making his way across the street, he kept his expression dark and forlorn. It was obvious to anyone who knew him that he was broken inside. What had just transpired was almost beyond his control but he knew it was his fault when the members finally stopped listening to him. What he had done however, was an act of self defense and if those bastards were rendered unconscience because of him then so be it. Being the former leader, he wasn’t going to stand having such a thing happen. They all should have known better than to try and outnumber him like that. He could be ruthless when he wanted to be and drastic times called for drastic measures of course and if this kept up, he would do what he would need to, even if it didn’t necessarily mean fighting fair.
To add onto all of that, he had noticed Mikado walking through the streets, it wasn’t so much out in the open now but Kida knew for a while now that Mikado had indeed seemed rather off for quite sometime now and when he caught a glimpse of his figure, he couldn’t help but seize the opportunity to follow him. The faux blond doubted that Mikado was the type to have a purpose for walking in a place as dreary as this but then, he wasn’t so sure.
Taking notice that his friend in front of him by a few inches had pulled out his phone as if he was to answer someone. Kida braced himself for whatever was about to come next and he was certain that he wasn’t going to be happy about it. He stood there watching the noir with a blank expression upon his face and he released a minor exhale as he watched him slowly begin to turn around and face him.
“Somethin’s been goin’ on with you, Mikado. I can just tell. Tell me what’s been going on. I just don’t wanna see anything happen t’ you.”
The confidence and determination that had previously been on dull features melted away in the face of his best friend, and was instead replaced by his usual nervous smile. If there was one thing he hadn’t been expecting, it was that the blond would turn up just after he had finished giving orders (’take them out, they’re destroying the Dollars’). Masaomi was supposed to be away from here, not in the area where he could stumble upon the boss and almost into his more violent subordinates as well.
Mikado had to take in a deep breathe, to calm himself down and to prepare himself for the possible lies that he would be spewing in an attempt to cover himself up. Although he didn’t know what the other knew exactly, it all came down to trying and making sure that he could cover himself if there was a slight slip in the story.
”I’m fine,“ he said, slipping his phone into his pocket and trying for comforting. ”There’s nothing to tell, Kida-kun. Everything is fine,“
Mikado honestly wasn’t sure how convincing he was being, despite his best attempts. He knew that Kida could practically read him like a book (one that had many hidden pages), and it was always so difficuolt to lie to his face. For so long they had been friends and had stuck together, and keeping such a big part of his life from his friend was wrong. But it was necessary. Kida had told him to stay away from the Dollars when he had first arrived in Ikebukuro, but that was obviously impossible. Not when he was the leader.
”.. What made you think that something was wrong?“
